Since 2005, the Heron Rock Bistro has been serving up great food at affordable prices in James Bay. The Heron Rock Bistro is a fantastic choice for every meal, and has a casual restaurant feel. The Heron Rock Bistro is tucked away in a building complex that you could easily walk on by if you didn’t know it was there. The Bistro provides great incentives for diners with many specials offered during the week, plus live music and a discount on bottles of wine on Monday. Also, enjoy the pasta special from Tuesday to Thursday.
Start your day off right
Breakfast includes a variety of classic breakfast items that you can mix and match as well as some unique culinary creations. In addition to the classic Eggs Benedict, there is also the Salmon Benedict with smoked salmon mousse and fried capers, and a Stilton and Bacon Benedict with stilton cheese, bacon and sautéed mushrooms. The omelettes are made with free range eggs and use creative ingredient combinations such as mushrooms, garlic and goat cheese. For a heavier meal, there is the steak and egg poutine, or on the lighter side, there is homemade granola, yogurt and fruit.

For lunch or dinner, enjoy the house salad made with local organic greens, apples, grapes, seeds, bacon and a dijon-shallot vinaigrette. Choose a healthy and hearty beef, lamb or veggie burger. Sandwiches are always a filling choice for lunch. Choices include a curry chicken clubhouse, a steak sandwich and a roasted vegetable sandwich. Dinner includes savoury dishes such as a pan roasted Cowichan Bay Farm chicken breast stuffed with caramelized onion, parsley and goat cheese or a SaltSpring Island lamb shank braised with garlic.
