Old growth, new growth, you'll be amazed by the growth - period. A 653 year-old, 2.59 metre section of a giant Douglas Fir greets visitors upon their entrance to the Seymour Demonstration Forest. Fourteen times the size of Stanley Park, this working forest offers a spectacular and diverse landscape of alpine meadows, forested slopes and river flood plains that the entire family will appreciate. The network of six trails (1-7 km. in length), complete with visitor maps and interpretative signs, make your visit both enjoyable and educational.
Don't Miss Out
A smooth, paved track loops through the park allowing cyclists and in-line skaters to enjoy an outing with spectaculat views. Plenty of scenic vistas and great fishing spots can be found on the curves and points around Rice Lake. Spend and hour or a day in the forest and you are sure to be refreshed by the mosaic of vegetation patterns, the smell of poplar trees and the realization that responsible people are taking care of our forests.
