Pizza is taken to a whole new level of mouthwatering hot gooey goodness! People from all across the city are flocking to the Firewood Café for some of the best thin-crust wood-burning pizzas around! This family-style restaurant has garnered a reputation for being the experts in all things pizza. Once you take your first bite, you won’t be able to turn back. Sorry nonna!
Secret Ingredient: Wood
Step inside this laid back café and you’ll notice the sweet smell of tomato sauce wafting through the air. On any given day, this hotspot is packed with locals and tourists who come to watch their pizza being baked in an actual Italian wood-burning oven. The different types of wood used in this oven, such as cherry, apple or pine, lends its own unique flavors to your pizza pie. To add to the deliciousness, this joint uses a mixture of 100% specialty mozzarella and New Zealand Edam cheese. You won’t find any canned sauces here. Firewood’s sauce is made from a traditional blend of fresh tomatoes simmered with extra-virgin olive oil, garlic and herbs.
Pizza done Caribbean-style
More than 25 different pies to choose from make deciding what to order the most difficult part. Among the standouts is the Caribbean loaded with jerk chicken, garlic, red onions and cilantro. Or how about the parmagiana pizza topped with fresh basil, garlic, tender chicken, parmesan cheese, oregano and lemon. Load your masterpiece with gourmet toppings such as smoked Gouda, sun dried tomatoes, almonds, and shrimp. If you crave pasta, you’re also in luck! Fresh made-to-order pastas such as fettuccine Alfredo and spicy chicken primavera are a hit with homemade sauces. Prefer an at home experience? Firewood’s electrically heated delivery bags ensure you food is always hot.
