This chain hails from California, where its first burger stand was set up in 1952. An old-fashioned hamburger stand with modern trappings, Fatburger offers an alternative to standard fast food or more formal restaurants. With a retro ambiance consisting of a diner-style open kitchen and counter stools, plus functioning jukeboxes that let patrons choose their music, Fatburger really tries to stay true to its '50s roots. Also, unlike at most other restaurants, customers order at the counter and have their food delivered to their tables, which is made fresh, specifically to order. The Burgers
Don't expect pizza, curry, or anything else more exotic than onion rings – this is a burger joint. The menu features the signature Fatburger, (that's a 1/3 pound beef patty), the smaller Baby Fat, and the Kingburger (a 1/2 pound patty – try a triple!). Turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and even a veggie burger are also available. Combo meals are available with a drink and skinny fries. Or you can wash your burger down with the most traditional pairing - an ice cream milkshake or root beer float.
