The beginning
In 2003, a Slovakian couple started this little take-out shop using home-inspired recipes. Being new to Canada at that time, the couple’s inspiration came from a desire to see healthier food in the food-to-go market. Without sacrificing on taste, a series of simple lunch items and goodies were put together and Everybody Loves Veggies was born.
Vegan delights
Everything on the menu is strictly vegan – no exceptions. The recipes are vegetable-heavy but choc-a-bloc with flavour. They offer a variety of soups, casserole bakes, stews, sandwiches, salads and baked goods. Some favourites are the cauliflower and yam bake and the banana chocolate chip cookie. All the foods are cooked fresh, daily, on premises. None of them contain animal by-products or preservatives.
Location, location
This quick-stop eatery is in the corner of the food court in City Place Mall at the corner of 12th and Ash streets, downtown. Located just behind the main elevator coming into the food court, the bright red sign is easy to see. For more information, check out “Everybody Loves Veggies” on YouTube.
