The Italians have dining down to an art form. Food is meant to be fresh and rich, and always enjoyed leisurely with friends and family. Finally, it’s more often than not accompanied by full-bodied wines. In the richly Italian neighbourhood of Commercial Drive, the chic, but cozy restaurant, DeVino is right at home. It is a family run business – the family also owns Gelateria Dolce Amore next door. DeVino, chic but cozy, inspires its diners to slow down and savour every flavour.
Keeping it fresh
Head Chef Hugh Carberry likes to keep the menu fresh, both literally and figuratively. He shops at local produce markets on The Drive, and often uses meat suppliers from the area. Similar to the Old Italian way, Carberry’s menus are also inspired by what he brings back in his shopping bag. You’ll find menu items like cured Italian meats, lamb, pastas, gourmet cheeses and house-made condiments, served up tapas style.
Wine Pairings
Along with these decadent flavours, you might just want to whet your appetite with a glass of vino. DeVino has 50+ wines to choose from and the servers help you find one that best compliments your meal.
