The Delta Museum and Archives play an important role in education. With the demands on the education system today, the museum aids students with educational programs developed with the assistance of teachers. The staff can provide pre-visit and post-visit activity ideas. They work well as part of the museum visit but and provide a big help in the classroom. Programs are specifically designed to meet K to Grade 7 curriculum in Social Studies, English, Visual Arts and Science.
An Effective Outreach Program
The Delta Museum and Archives provides outreach programs. They can be booked ahead and there is a selection of programs to choose from. The topics vary from First Nations to local history or multiculturalism.
Volunteers Welcome
The museum encourages people to play an important role by volunteering. Volunteers can be trained to take on outreach exhibits and bring more history into the community. Providing tours of the museum is another area that assistance is encouraged. It is also a great way to spend some spare time. You can dedicate as little as two hours per week or help out with weekend programs with lectures, workshops or performances and celebrations.
