First Impressions
This professional company has called The Shaw its home since 1993, but has been around for a decade longer. Their mission is to provide a training ground for professional actors, both new to the business and old hands, in front of a live audience. Tickets for the shows are reasonably priced, and the quality of production is high, whether it be a new play or an older favourite.
Deep Cove Stage Society
Staging a selection of classic and new plays, The Deep Cove Stage Society is known for its comedies and thrillers, but also its beloved pantomime. A loose, Christmas-time retelling of classic children’s fairytales like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Aladdin or Robin Hood, the pantomime incorporates song and dance, buffoonery, lots of audience participation, and a little mild sexual innuendo for the grown-ups. Regular season performances run October through June.
