Cobs Bread was founded in Vancouver in 2003 and is part of one of the world’s most successful bakery chains, Baker’s Delight. Bringing 27 years of experience to each loaf, Cobs has made a name for itself with their wide range of all things baked, braided and breaded, all hand-crafted and served up fresh and flavourful, every day. Cobs consistently win various awards for their goods, regularly beating out other local favourites with their competitive prices and fresh finds, such as the ever-popular apple and walnut logs or blueberry tea times.
Fresh from the Oven
From sweet and sinful treats to cheesy indulgences, you’re sure to find a grain to fit the occasion. Their traditional loaves of white, whole wheat and country grain are prepared using vegetable oil, yeast, water, unbleached flour and just a pinch of salt, with the added bonus of no additional sugars or dairy products, heartening for vegan bread lovers. Their seeded loaves are some of the most sought-after, as they offer a healthy alternative with high-seed content ranging from lekkerbrot and soy to flaxseed and cape seed. For a real Aussie treat, albeit a calorie-laden one, indulge with a Cheesymite Scroll or any of their twisted cheese delights or savoury buns.
On the Rise
With 35 locations in the greater Vancouver area, Cobs has certainly cornered the carb-lover’s market. While they indeed serve the community with their wide range of tasty delights, they have also contributed more than $5 million in bread to local charities since 2002, staying true to their mission: “real bread, real people, real delight!” That friendly, community-oriented service is evident from the moment the door opens over the brightly tiled floors to the last sniff of the luscious loaves that are laden across the wooden racks.
