The Coquitlam City Centre Aquatic Complex doesn't look like too much from the outside - it's a big, square, white building with blue trim and some pretty (or twee) little arches ornamenting it here and there.
...In
Inside, however, it's a different story. There's a free-form wave pool complete with mock rescue boat and fire nozzle, a gushing bird and reptile combination, a pseudo river with a gentle current and a fun spraying and playing area and a tot's bubble pool for the little ones. Next, there's a great long waterslide, 54 metres long to be exact, and the main pool is eight lanes wide and 50-metres long with one-and-three-metre diving boards, a rope swing and a section of adjustable depth flooring.
Not Just Water
On site is 3,000 square feet of health and fitness resources with cardiovascular equipment, weight training machines and free weights. The privately operated Eagle Ridge Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy Clinic offers injury rehabilitation on site, and the Aquatic Centre Café uses its proceeds to continue upgrading and improving the facility. The centre offers childminding, birthday parties, and swimming and lifesaving lessons. You'll find babies with bubbles, water-winged tots and triathletes in training at this centre for water lovers of all ages.
