Whereas a lot of downtown nightclubs in big cities use intimidation tactics at the door and require partiers to don the skimpiest of outfits, Citrus nightclub encourages clubbers to come in, be themselves and have a good time. No standing in front of the mirror for hours obsessing over make up and outfits; no preening and flirting with the bouncers to get in. This club is more laid back than that and the staff just want you and your friends to walk through the door and begin to enjoy yourselves.
Weekly events happen regularly and you won’t want to miss out on your favourite. Having a boring Monday night in? Head over to Citrus and soak up the $1.50 Cornitas and $2.99 highballs. On Tuesdays, enter into “Detention” night and score $3.50 Coronas and $2.99 highballs. Fridays are packed, so get on the guest list and take advantage of the free cover and $3.00 highballs. Saturday nights are for the scandal-seekers, as the stripper poles come out to play and the ladies can get a little crazy. A little secret: on the weekend, get there before 10p.m. and receive free cover and a drink.
Keep an eye open for special events happening at Citrus. Although the weekly theme nights are fun, sometimes exclusive parties are announced that will knock your socks off. New Year’s Eve is always a good time to party there, as tickets are reasonable and they usually have great entertainment and fun party favours. There are also some hot events, such as dance contests, hula-hoop contests, flaming drink parties, DVD releases, and battle of the bands competitions.
