Located in the heart of Steveston Village in Richmond, Cimona Café is both a cozy rainy day getaway with a fireplace and a perfect summer patio spot with a beautiful view of the river. Reasonable prices make this a family favourite, offering a huge selection of continental cuisine from seafood to pasta to burgers and salads, great for bigger groups that can be hard to please. They also have daily dinner specials like the creamy Scallop and Shrimp pasta on Tuesdays, the Baked Halibut Filet on Thursdays or the 10 oz. New York Striploin served on Fridays.
Fresh to Order
Breakfast is served daily until 2:30 p.m., and is one of the few places that offer Bratwurst sausage with your eggs and toast, and the option of swapping fresh fruit for your hashbrowns. But none of the options are so varied as the omelettes, with a whopping 14 flavours to choose from, such as the Popeye with red onion, tomato, spinach and feta cheese or the healthy Chef’s Favourite, made with egg whites, smoked salmon, grilled veggies, jalapenos and topped with salsa. There are also several breakfast wraps, thick slices of French toast and a variety of Benny’s.
Catering to Crowds
From the tiger prawn appetizer to the tiger brownie dessert, Cimona serves up continental cuisine with their own special twists, like the Cimona spinach salad, served with roasted pine nuts, oranges, mushrooms, tomato and onion with a choice of prawns, smoked salmon or grilled chicken breast. Their lunch menu features every kind of sandwich imaginable, with a few vegetarian options like the falafel or Greek wraps. The catering menu offers up dozens of combinations taken from their lunch and dinner menus, from as little as $6 per person, with anything from quesadillas and deep fried zucchini sticks to full-scale meals like veal parmigiana or baked wild salmon.
