Profile

Asian take on the Coffee Bean
In Italian, Chicco dall Oriente means Oriental bean, and this little coffee and dessert bar definitely adds its own Asian spin to classic coffee bar favourites. Chicco serves the usual Americanos and lattés, but can also whip up a mean green tea latté. The small space, decorated with vintage oriental furniture and Japanese pottery, is often packed with lively customers.

Parfait Perfect
Chicco dall Oriente makes its own signature parfaits that you can’t pick up anywhere else. Very Berry, Tiramisu, Green Tea, Black Sesame are only a few of the flavours that are served up with tasty layers of ice cream, whip cream, sponge cake and a surprising layer of crunchy corn flakes. If it’s something cold and sweet you desire, Chicco is where you want to be. Choose from a selection of creamy gelatos, sip on a Chicco Tropical ice drink, or order up a Black Sesame slushy. Chicco also creates seasonal specials. A summer favourite is the bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso.

Japanese Cakes Baked on Site
Authentic Japanese cakes and cookies are baked on the premises. The display case is filled with so many beautiful cakes and puddings, deciding which one to eat can be a challenge. The fresh mango pudding is a customer favourite as are the sugar-dusted shortbread cookies in chocolate or green tea swirls. Another Chicco specialty definitely worth a try is the light, fluffy Japanese cheesecake which is always in supply.
