One thing’s for sure, it’s a friendly place where everyone is made to feel welcome whether you’re a neighbourhood regular or a tourist. Checkers is busy most nights due to its wide range of attractions, including a comprehensive and reasonably priced menu, karaoke, live entertainment, televised sports, Keno and other lottery games, drink specials, and more.
Plenty of fun and food
You can meet friends at Checkers for drinks, appies and laughs, or drop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Traditional “tucker” meets fusion on the large menu, which offers a variety of choices. There is something for everyone. Checkers specializes in burgers, pastas, seafood and tapas. Some other items are Baby Back Ribs, Steak Oscar, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and B.C. Salmon Filet, as well as a selection of soups, salads and starters. Breakfasts are very substantial. Food is served until 12:30 a.m., perfect for a late-night nosh after a show or game. The service at Checkers gets good reviews from customers.
