Maybe not quite as prestigious as its 160-year-old Scottish namesake, Port Coquitlam’s Carnoustie Golf Club still offers one of the best values for your green fee in the Lower Mainland. Located in the Tri Cities area, the course is tucked in near the Lougheed Highway and the Pitt River Bridge. The mature tree-lined public course has a solid reputation for the quality of its greens and picturesque coastal mountain setting. After more than 30 years of golf at Carnoustie, you can tell that course maintenance has always been a major priority for the staff. The 18-hole, 6300-yard, par 71 course features challenging dog-legs and waterways surrounded by native wild grasses. Whether you are a low or high handicap player, the course offers a fair but challenging game. The 19th Hole
Carnoustie’s small pro shop has everything a golfer needs in terms of equipment and power carts, pull carts and clubs can be rented. A fully licensed lounge and grill inside the clubhouse is a great place to relax after a round of golf and offers a menu full of all your pub grub favourites. Patrons are also invited to enjoy the bar and grill’s fabulously comfortable patio on a summer day or evening. Year-Round
Although the course is only open in season from February through November, the lounge and banquet facility remains open all year long so the club can host any event from weddings to business meetings and conferences. Call ahead to book tee times as the Carnoustie Golf Club is one of the area’s favourite public courses.
