In 2007, Capers Community Market merged with Whole Foods Market. Today, it is Canada's leading natural and organic foods retailer, with four locations in Greater Vancouver. The first location in West Vancouver opened in 1985 with a mission to share the delights of organic food and help promote sustainable agriculture. Today, Capers serves many communities throughout the area, providing a huge selection of delicious, high quality, organic and natural food, including locally grown and manufactured produce and products. Capers also offers the best in health and wellness products, including natural supplements and personal care and beauty items.
Life after granola
Capers is all about variety, with everything you need to make memorable meals—meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, condiments, you name it! You’ll also find fresh flowers, basic staples, bulk food, packaged products, all provided with sustainability and accountability in mind. Plus, their baked goods are to die for. Made with real butter and whole organic ingredients, Capers’ cookies, cakes and other treats have a definite edge over your regular supermarket fare. The lemon tart is a perennial favourite.
Nourishing the community
Vancouver’s Capers has raised more than $1 million for worthy non-profit organizations in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. In-store deli and snack counters make Capers a popular place to meet and greet friends and neighbours. A community bulletin board and free health magazines confirm, once again, that this is a place to celebrate health, obtain information and connect with your community. Shoppers appreciate the grocery store’s friendly, eager and knowledgeable employees, who are always happy to help.
