Located in the same complex with Burnaby Public Library’s Cameron Branch, the Cameron Recreation Complex has two floors of facilities. The lower level houses saunas, showers, a weight room and racquet courts. The upper level lends its space to a seniors’ centre and several multipurpose rooms. For banquets or large gatherings, the multipurpose rooms can be merged to create the large Evergreen room, complete with a nearby prep kitchen.
From cycling to chess
The gymnasium at Cameron Recreation Complex offers badminton, volleyball, basketball and gymnastics. An indoor cycling studio has over 20 stationary bikes for pedal pushers. Visitors to the weight room have access to treadmills, lifecycles, elliptical trainers, free weights and more. Those into racquet sports can take advantage of the two indoor tennis courts and two squash, racquetball and wally ball courts. Members over 55 can get together and enjoy a cup of coffee in the seniors’ lounge, and get involved in a variety of activities. The Golden Knights Chess Club and Wings Gymnastics Society call the Cameron centre home base.
