Soon after opening their doors in 2007, Caffe Addictions was already standing out from the slew of cookie-cutter chains with friendly service, healthy snacks and, of course, rich, nutty coffee. Locally-owned and operated by tri-city resident Winston D'Souza, Caffe Addictions caters to the needs of locals and tourists alike, always welcoming each patron individually into their cozy nook. Imported marble tables and a warm colour scheme of spicy orange and creamy greens make the space incredibly inviting, and the large outdoor patio is perfect for a warm summer’s day. There are also occasionally live musicians performing outdoors here from the afternoon into the evening. There is always live music Friday and Saturday evenings, when D’Souza goes out of his way to showcase local talent, both established performers and up-and-comers.
Join the Breakfast Club
Of their many egg-based concoctions, their most popular breakfast is the special which comes with two eggs, crispy hash browns, your choice of white, brown or low carb toast, bacon or ham and their rich house blend coffee. There is also a wide range of fat-free, wheat-free and dairy-free homemade muffins, fruity choices and more. Or if you fancy a liquid brunch, opt for a meal replacement smoothie, which comes in eight flavours, such as mango or strawberry/banana, with your choice of protein powder, flax seed oil, fresh fruit purée and green tea extracts.
Let’s do Lunch
Addictions knows how to hook their lunch crowd with a slew of fresh paninis like the gourmet Italian or fire roasted chicken, which go well with a big bowl of their hearty homemade soups. They also offer a wide range of sugar-free chocolate baked goods and low-carb items. Their Ceasar salad is also the stuff of legend, with homemade garlic dressing over crisp romaine lettuce, herbed croutons and fresh parmesan shaved on top. For dinner, try their meaty homemade chilli, simmering all day with ground beef, steak chunks and smoky maple bacon.
