Viva Italia
This Italian Sports Bar is an unexpected Commercial Drive hang out. Hockey jerseys, masks, black and white pictures and sporting emblems decorate the walls. Large glass windows, which wrap around much of the café, keep the place sunny, and the bar is quite unique with a chalked menu overhead and a roof with traditional Italian red shingles as a cover. Black speckled table tops, padded steel chairs and tiled floor gives the unusually large space a breathable yet cozy feel. Right down to the white-haired Italian-speaking men playing cards late into the night, Café Roma has Europe written all over it.
Traditional Treats
Café Roma serves breakfast and lunch, including plenty of pasta specials each day, keeping the menu fresh for those who like to visit often. Pizza, hot sandwiches (with melted Italian cheeses) and traditional Italian pastries are plenty. Coffee is served hot and strong – European style. Food can be eaten inside while enjoying a sports game on one of the many plasma TVs, or, on the street side patio on those warmer days.
