Take the family for a wonderful ride on a miniature train that travels around the railway's 2 miles of 7.5" gauge track. There are two tunnels, two bridges and two viaducts. Rides to the public are available from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays from the Easter weekend through Canadian Thanksgiving (second Monday in October.) The track may also be available for operations by members and visitors before and after public running hours and on other days by arrangement.
Planning A Party?
Here we have a fun and exciting option for celebrating special events that can be enjoyed by both the young, and the young at heart. The grounds can hold 3-4 individual parties under their own tents, and schedule rides for the guests. Bring your own party treats, picnics, or there is pizza available for delivery from a local vendor. There is even a quaint souvenir shop located at the station, and vending machines with alternate refreshments for those that get thirsty from the ride. If you are thinking of using Burnaby’s best kept secret for your event, it is a good idea to call well in advance as the weekends are known to book quickly.
A Volunteer Operation
The railway is operated entirely by volunteers for The British Columbia Society of Model Engineers (BCSME). The BCSME requires a recognized club operator's certificate and requires a visiting engineer to read a copy of the safety and operating rules prior to unsupervised operation.
