Making its home in the shiny new Upper Harbour Place in Vic West, Buon Amici's is a great place to go for a relaxing latte or a speedy cappuccino on the go. The stylish café boasts high ceilings, coffee bags hanging from exposed piping and lots of live plants and natural light. Coffee and caramel tones add to the cozy feel and a changing exhibit of local art keeps the look fresh. Visitors are encouraged to linger and take advantage of the free coffee magazines, newspapers, games and wireless Internet. If you don’t have a computer, there’s a pair of private computer stations that can be used for a nominal fee. On sunny days, you may opt to take your coffee to go and enjoy a stroll along the Gorge Waterway, or the Galloping Goose Trail, both of which are in close proximity. If you’re in the mood to catch some rays and relax, there’s also a sidewalk patio.

You know you’re getting a good cup of java when the owner of the joint held the 2007 title of best barista in Western Canada! In addition to owner Derek Lucas’s winning creation, Pistachio dated koufli, and the world’s most expensive cappuccino, the café offers all your favourite espresso creations. Buon Amici's exclusively sells premium, organic, shade-grown coffee that’s locally roasted to ensure freshness. From the rich, yet light-roast “Panama Sunrise,” to the bold and spicy “Melody Infusion,” there’s a blend for every palate. If you’re into gardening, Buon Amici's offers up its organic coffee grounds, which are great compost. Bring your own bin, or borrow one of café’s.
Decadent Sweets and Healthy Lunch Items
Whether you’re grabbing a muffin on the way to work, or having a healthy power lunch, there’s an excellent selection of food at Buon Amici's. On the sweet side, there are homemade bars, scones, cookies and cakes that go great with a coffee or tea. For lunch, you have the choice of fresh sandwiches, wraps and paninis that are great paired with the soup of the day. In the warmer months, Buon Amici's hosts barbecue days that feature wild pacific salmon burgers, smokies and jumbo prawn skewers. Catering is also available.
