Delightful Dundarave
This small gallery in Dundarave has a lot going for it. Situated between 24th and 25th Avenues, it makes an interesting stop on a walk through the village-like cluster of stores. The flower-filled medians of this stretch of Marine Drive (watch for the pedestrian crossing mid-way between 24th and 25th) adds to the arts-filled ambiance.

Come In and Browse
Unintimidating, Buckland Southerst welcomes browsers. Opened in 1999, the gallery specializes in offering original quality art without too steep a price tag. The owner also believes in helping emerging artists to establish their careers. Works offered are oils and watercolours by a number of interesting artists. They’re Canadians with International roots – Europe, China, Taiwan – which brings diverse and exciting influences to their work. Landscapes, still life, interiors, and cityscapes appear on the gallery display walls. Among the exciting artists are Alessandra Bitelli, Brian Harvey, Henry Huai, and Adam Noonan. Also included is award-winning artist Sun Lin, whose roots lie in Taiwan, and who paints extraordinary watercolours, while BC-born Morgan Dunnet produces intriguing cityscapes. Larry Bracegirdle paints beautifully lit interiors and Rita Monaco paints wonderfully coloured landscapes reflecting scenes of her native Italy.

A Place to Park
Parking is often a bit of a challenge in Dundarave. The Buckland Southerst Gallery offers parking behind the building, off Dundarave Lane.
