Elegance, ambience and excellent food are just a few things the regulars say about Bravo Cucina Ristorante Italiano on the North Shore. Located at the corner of 12th Street West and the quaint yet hip Lonsdale Avenue, this restaurant has been serving up authentic Italian dishes since 1996. Since 2001, the restaurant has won many local “Best of” awards in the restaurant category.
Home cooked Italian cuisine
The variety of homemade dishes, covering classic tastes from every region in Italy, is not the only thing that has earned this restaurant its stripes. The extensive wine list covers California, Chile, Argentina, South Africa and Australia and also includes many reserve wines. The mussels are another famous item on the menu, served up as a frequent ingredient in pastas and risottos. Other favourites include prawns, bocconcini and antipasto platters for appetizers. Mains see red snapper, veal and many fresh herbs within the menu choices.
Italian interior décor
The warm décor – terracotta accents, art-filled walls, white tablecloths and marble Italian statues create an ambiance that works for a group lunch or an intimate dinner for two. There are 75 seats inside and seating on the patio during the summer, as well as bar stools along the kitchen for those who want to catch the cooks in action. The atmosphere has attracted famous eaters over the years including Vancouver Canucks hockey players, Swollen Members band members and Bryan Adams’ band. Famous or not, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, reservations are a must!
