A Fashionable Start
body politic was the brainchild of owner Nicole Ritchie-Oseen, who lived and breathed style from a young age. This boutique retail store is now a culmination of her fashion fixation and her desire to share good clothing with others. It’s a good thing she decided to open her shop on Main Street, then, where her fellow neighbours are just as style-crazy as she is. The store opened in December 2008 and has already gained a reputation as a block favourite.

Sustainable Design, Limitless Style
The focus here is independent designers, whether they hail locally, nationally or from anywhere on the continent. Vancouver names share racks with brands from New York, and well known designers rub shoulders with up and coming names. Sustainable design is important to Nicole, who sources clothing produced in North America that use both sustainable and natural fabrics. Jewelry and accessories also follow this belief. This is the trend of the future in fashion and body politic is leading the way.

Where Did You Get That?
Individual style and exceptional design is what body politic is known for. They are the exclusive carriers of such Canadian names as Lara Miller, Teich and Modaspia, while also stocking such notable designers as Bahar Shahpar from New York and Perfectly Imperfect, hailing from Los Angeles. The merchandise all has one thing in common: a sustainability edge with class. The folks here prove that going green can be a stylish decision for your wardrobe. Call or email the store if you want to find out how to be invited to their private shopping events.
