With open areas and a forested area covering half the park, Blue Mountain Park's facilities include quiet picnic areas, sports grounds and tennis courts. Easily accessible by vehicle or public transit, the park is bordered by King Albert Avenue, Blue Mountain Street, Porter Street, and Floyd and Winslow Avenues in central Coquitlam.
Get wet
Blue Mountain's impressive water complex has a spray park, wading pool and playground. There's a concession nearby, too. A lifeguard is on duty during summer hours. Children under seven must be accompanied by an adult. The most accessible parking is along Floyd Avenue or King Albert Avenue.
What you'll find
Carved granite art pieces line the paths through the forest, and the Blue Mountain Cenotaph is located on the east side, created in memory of the men and women of the Armed Forces who served their country. The Blue Mountain Waterfall in the very centre of the park is a favourite spot for wedding ceremonies and picture taking.
Events and amenities
The sports field and baseball diamond on the west side are home to little league baseball and soccer leagues. Open areas host regular festivals like Festival du Bois, and the FACES of the World Arts & Culture Festival, as well as children's day camps. In the centre of the forested area is a Scout Hall, home of an active Scout troop. Shelters can be rented in the same manner as in other Coquitlam parks. Sportsfields are usually allocated to sport groups and associations for organized practices and games, but they are also available for individual bookings.
