Peter Black & Sons is B.C.’s largest producer and supplier of Scotland’s national food – haggis - filling orders from across the province. You’ll get much more than that at this traditional meat shop in modern South Park Royal. You’ll get fine cuts of fresh lamb, chicken and beef—no seafood—prepared with techniques that have been handed down for three generations. Peter Black was a butcher in Scotland who ran several shops. After immigrating to Canada, he opened a butcher shop in the west side neighbourhood Kerrisdale. His son followed in his footsteps, opening a butchery in West Vancouver’s Ambleside. Today, Peter Black’s grandson Adam runs the Park Royal store.
Old-fashioned Customer Service
The difference between buying meat in a chain supermarket rather than an independent meat market is simple. The quality of meat tends to be better, and you can’t beat the knowledgeable customer service. Peter Black & Sons is always busy. There is a sizable repeat clientele. That’s because the staff take the time to get to know customers’ preferences and help them with their choices, offering useful advice along the way. Many of Peter Black and Sons’ customers have become long time friends.
You Can Practically Hear The Bagpipes
Peter Black & Sons is proud of its heritage, which shows in a range of freshly prepared products sold in addition to roasts, steaks, ribs, hams, whole chickens, chicken breasts and so forth. Those with a taste for the homeland will appreciate the meat shop’s “homemade” Scotch meat pies, Scotch sausages and Scotch eggs. The store also sells a selection of condiments such as steak sauce and BBQ sauce.
