The Scene
More of a hallway than a room, the close proximity of the tables makes it difficult not to be a part of your neighbor's conversation. However, a warm intimate atmosphere does result from the cramped quarters.
The Menu
The longstanding European tradition of tapas has finally taken hold in Vancouver and Bin 941 is riding the wave. The Tapatisers section of the menu is a mix of foreign and local flavours; pan seared ostrich medallions with sweet cedar leaf reduction and crunchy pinenuts. With a substantial amount of meat on the menu, there isn't much to satisfy the leafy cravings of vegetarians. With four different sauces to choose from (coconut milk-garam masala is the most popular), the steamed mussels are a must.
The Wine List
The selection of fermented grapes with and without skins includes choices from California, South America, Australia and France. The list of Hip Hops features the locals along with some almost-imports from Quebec.
