There’s nothing like a small, independent eatery to chow down in after work. Big Fish Sushi is just that kind of place, with a large menu, friendly service and simple interior. Residents of East Broadway tend to come here for take out dinner orders and delivery on those nights they’re too wiped out to cook. Drivers provide free delivery on orders over $20 and within five kilometers of the restaurant.

With a menu that spans so many options, a few trips to this small restaurant is warranted to truly get a feel for its scope. Appetizers run the gamut from tofu, crab Sunomono, ebi and edamame, to chicken Karage or Yakitori, gyoza and seaweed salad. All are priced under $5. Their tempura, teriyaki, donbui and noodles are also plentiful and all run under $10. Standard rolls, sushi, nigiri and sashimi are all covered, with a few local specials named after the area: Broadway, Rupert, Stanley Park and Victoria.

If you’re planning on having company, a party or just have a huge appetite, they cater for all occasions. Party trays are good for feeding large groups with a variety of tastes.
