In Britain when a customer wants clothes made specifically to their taste, they go to a bespoke tailor. Where the fine tailors of Saville Row leave off, owners Jonalyn Siemens and Heather Draper begin. Bespoke Design’s inception was inspired by a desire to create living spaces as unique as the suits made for the elegant and upwardly mobile British gentry. Don't think that Bespoke is only for the wealthy, though. "Creating a beautiful space needn't be expensive", notes Siemens, "it just needs to be approached more thoughtfully and creatively".
An Eye for Detail and International Connections
Enter the Bespoke showroom in Market Square, and you will find an airy space filled with comforts - cushy pillows, inviting bedroom arrangements and luxurious curtain panels. As with any fine tailoring, Bespoke's designs begin with exotic fabric. After leaving her original shop in Calgary, Siemens travelled to visit the centres of fabric trade in Europe, Asia and North America. The ladies at Bespoke have laid the ground work to help their clients find a style that suits them.
Making it Coast Style
With a true west coast flair, not only are the designs from Bespoke unique to the client, they are also undertaken with a nod to environmentalism. The store features bamboo flooring and as much sustainable made material as possible. Special favourites of the owners are the line of enviro-friendly paints and wallpapers by Canadian manufacturer Farrow and Ball which are a store exclusive.
