When introducing BBQ Bob’s it is most important to introduce the barbecue master himself, Bob Haselbach. Working in restaurants since the age of 14, he only recently became the barbecue master that he is. Bob discovered his love for the grill when he became a chef for Whistler Blackcomb’s mountain restaurants and went to BBQ school. He has been barbecuing competitively since 2004 and proudly hangs his trophies and ribbons on the wall of BBQ Bob’s. Even though he’s busy with the restaurant, Bob still finds time to travel the world competing in his favourite sport.
Dogs playing poker
BBQ Bob’s is located in Whistler’s Creekside neighbourhood, about four kilometers south of Whistler Village. The menu at BBQ Bob’s is filled with delicious items including smokey BBQ ribs, “low and slow” pulled pork, tender roasted chicken, brisket, salads and sandwiches. The homemade desserts are decadent and the key lime pie is a must have. The restaurant also offers a kids’ menu. Check out the prime rib Saturdays and Sundays and enjoy brunch from 11a.m. to 3.p.m.

The interior of BBQ Bob’s is decorated with a poker theme featuring a reprint of the painting, “dogs playing poker.” They offer delivery for groups of two to 10 people and you can order alcohol from neighbouring Roland’s Creekside Pub and Beer and Wine Store to go with your meal.
Canadian National BBQ Championships
Whistler is home to the Canadian National BBQ Championships, which take place every B.C. Day long weekend in August. The epicentre of this event is Whistler Blackcomb’s restaurant, Dusty’s Bar and BBQ – also located Creekside. Always the competitor, Bob Haselbach is still heavily involved in the event.
