Succulent Steaks, Savoury Seafood
Barkley’s Steak and Seafood House is known for its namesake dishes. The AAA Canadian steaks are all cooked over imported mesquite coals to sear in the full flavour. There are several choices of cuts including New York strip, filet mignon and rib eye, which can be cut in your preferred size and served with a variety of accompaniments ranging from traditional Béarnaise sauce to indulgent Caribbean lobster tails. There are also excellent choices from the sea, including plenty of local catches such as Queen Charlotte halibut, Vancouver Island crab cakes, wild B.C. salmon and Sooke trout. The menu at Barkley’s changes seasonally, with a focus on fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers.

Unwind in the Polo Lounge
Before or after enjoying a meal at Barkley’s, visitors can take in the lively atmosphere in the adjoining Polo Lounge. The bar menu is extensive and includes international and local wines; imported and local microbrewery beers; scotch and brandy; and fancy cocktails and martinis. Appetizers such as mussels, oysters, scallops and escargot can also be ordered, and a complimentary selection is served daily from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you’re finishing your evening with a nightcap at the lounge, you can order desserts paired with ice wine, port and specialty coffee.

Fine Dining Experience
Barkley’s sets itself apart from other establishments by offering premium steaks in combination with the French fine-dining experience. The seasoned wait staff offers exquisite tableside service, such as preparing classic Caesar salad, carving Chateaubriand steak and igniting flambé desserts. The atmosphere is that of a classic fancy restaurant complete with cream-coloured tablecloths, matching draperies and carpet, impressive fresh floral displays, elegant chairs, chandelier lighting and soft music.
