Heritage building digs
The Bard and Banker makes its home in one of the most beautiful heritage buildings in Victoria, the 1862 Bank Building. One of the bank’s most famous employees was “Bard of Yukon” and Canadian literary legend Robert Service.
Today, the spacious pub maintains much of its old charm with ornate columns, brass accents, intricate moldings, gorgeous chandeliers and tall windows. Slip into one of the leather booths, or grab a seat at the slick bar. In the warmer months, the place to be in on the comfy patio couches on the sidewalk.
West Coast pub fare, impressive bar
Expect traditional pub fare with West Coast flair at this gastropub. Queen Charlotte halibut becomes fish and chips, while shepherds pie comes with local lamb shank. In addition to pub classics, there’s also a great range of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas and salads. Platters like the abundant seafood “Inside Passage” and carnivore classic “Spell of the Yukon” are perfect for sharing over a few pints. There are more than 30 beers on tap, and the pub boasts one of the most impressive selections of spirits in town.
Live music and daily specials
The Bard and Baker features live music every evening with no cover charge. A wide range of musicians from roots to rap and local to international have played on the Sky Stage. Daily drink and food specials keep the party going all week!
