Aru is a Japanese word meaning, “to be” or “live.” The concept of Aru is founded upon Eastern philosophies that encourage a healthy mind, body and soul. Aru is the brainchild of two men who met doing marshal arts and who both wanted to bring a unique experience to the people of their hometown of South Surrey. The spa is built on the concept of Yin and Yang, with one side of the large space dim and meditative and the other side bright and social. The spa is beautifully designed with lots of intricate tile work, West Coast wood accents, modern furnishings and environmentally friendly features.
Sensational Spa and Salon Services
Aru offers a complete menu of spa treatments, including manicures, pedicures, waxing, massages, facials and sunless tanning. Many treatments are Japanese inspired. Spa packages offer excellent value for your money and include a series of services tailored to men, pregnant women, brides-to-be and teens. If you want to impress a date, the couple’s room, where you can enjoy a romantic soak in the Japanese bath followed by side-by-side massages, is truly impressive. Aru also has registered massage therapists, so you can enjoy a soothing experience and then give the bill to your health-coverage provider! In the salon part of Aru, you can have your hair cut, styled and coloured. Hair extensions and scalp massages are also available.
The Extra Touches
Regardless of what treatment you choose to have at Aru, all guests are welcome to use the essential oil-infused steam rooms and have a cup of herbal tea in the relaxation room. Complimentary valet parking is also available. The spa’s dedication to providing every guest with a memorable experience helped it garner the 2007 Best New Business Award from the White Rock Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous readers’ choice awards from local newspapers.
