The Art Institute of Vancouver’s Culinary Arts School prepares students for opportunities in the workplace, giving ideas and talent a place to take shape. Located in downtown Vancouver on the Granville Street strip, the school strives for an exceptional educational experience. Offering programs in culinary arts, hospitality, and pastry and desserts, experienced faculty members help students learn what it takes to launch their career. They believe that education is not a process where they hand out skills and knowledge, rather, an environment where students learn from artists and professionals, which means being fully engaged with eyes and mind wide open.
The Programs
Programs are available for Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, Restaurant Ownership, Entrepreneurship and Hospitality & Restaurant Business Management. Most faculty members have both professional and academic experience, and many continue to remain active in their respective culinary fields. An appropriate mix of full-time and adjunct faculty infuse their competency-based academic curriculum with real-world experience, creating an atmosphere that fosters student success in the kitchen. Combining traditional studies with career-focused technical training and practicum procedures, programs prepare well-rounded graduates who are ready to seek entry-level employment, or to be successful in their own business.
