Amami, a Japanese/Chinese restaurant, is located in the Sundial Hotel. Frequented by locals and tourists alike, the restaurant is a little more tucked away and quiet than some of the other Asian restaurants in town. It’s one of the only Chinese restaurants in Whistler, and is a little more upscale than the cheap and delicious mom and pop shops Vancouverites are used to.
The Menu
Amami’s signature dishes are the hot Ramen and sautéed shrimp in Szechuan sauce. Long-term staff at the restaurant also suggests the prawns in black bean sauce or the curried beef with veggies. Other dinner items include hot and sour soup; Gyoza dumplings; deep fried chicken served with honey lemon sauce; and fried tofu with mushrooms.
Family-style dining
One of the fun things about eating Asian food is that you can sit with a big group and eat like a family. Order a variety of plates and share from the lazy susan in the centre of the table. Amami is perfect for groups.
