Aldor Acres is a dairy farm that focuses on both the educational and entertaining features on the subject of dairy farming and agriculture. The farm opens itself for school groups, international tours and the general public for education tours, company gatherings, birthday parties, short-term farm stays, Pumpkin Patch tours and Christmas tree sales. In the dairy farm kids can learn to milk a cow, feed a calf or even lean how butter is made. Visit the Pumpkin Patch or the Christmas tree Farm to pick the season’s decoration that’s perfect for your home.
So Much to Do
The 120-acre piece of land is used to grow an array of fruits and veggies alike. Pumpkins, corn, hay, silage, apples, raspberries and blueberries are just a few agricultural sensations that can be found here. The hands-on experience is useful for all ages to learn how a Canadian farm runs, as well as participate in the many activities that they operate. Don’t miss out on the mobile petting zoo and the hayride out to the Pumpkin patch to choose your own to take home- each season has its own many highlights.
The Tour
The interactive Dairy Farm Tour is reason enough to make the trip to this award-winning Langley farm. The excursion starts with a short video introduction about the daily happenings of a dairy farm. You’re then taken to the dairy theatre, where you can watch the morning milking of the herd, and be selected to participate in the actual milking, as well as churning butter and separating cream. The entire tour itself takes about one hour and the dairy theatre section always takes place at 10:00 a.m. The package includes a coffee and muffin service, as well as the expertise of the farmers to guide you. Not only an entertaining way to see life outside of the city, but an educational journey into the wonders of where our milk comes from.
