Open for both lunch and dinner, Akemi Sushi offers diners a chance to break away from the rigors of the day. All you have to do is pull up a chair and settle in for a unique Japanese dining experience. Every chair in the 50-seat u-shaped dining area has a view of the outdoor, glass-encased, live fishpond in the centre of the room. Complete with its own cascading waterfall and a bevy of fish life, the pond helps create a serene vibe allowing diners to appreciate the authentic Japanese food and decor. Besides the pond, the room itself is decorated like one would come to expect from a classic Japanese restaurant, featuring historic Japanese art on the walls. There is room for seven to dine and watch the sushi chefs work at Akemi's sushi bar, as well.
Fresh Sushi Grade Fish
As the name would indicate, Akemi is best known for its sushi. From maki to nigiri and everything in between, the sushi menu is filled with classic favourites done the right way. Besides sushi, Akemi also offers a number of cooked Japanese specialties and Bento boxes. The restaurant is fully licenced and there is a selection of four sakes including the house warm sake and three different premium cold sakes.
