In the heart of the city is Abbotsford Exhibition Park where it seems there is always something going on. There are several buildings with meeting and banquet space available. The Legacy Sports Centre has two meeting rooms with a sound system and screen for training aids. There is also a banquet hall available for rent. It has a rooftop patio, open balconies, a full service commercial kitchen for caterers and large rounds with seating. The AgRec building is also great for entertaining as it can accommodate a range of events. The main floor can handle banquets, dances, trade shows, animal shows, auctions, and other major events. The upper level Gallery has windows overlooking the main floor and is ideal for banquets, meetings, seminars, and other social gatherings. For a more intimate setting, the main floor Meeting Room is perfect as a seminar room or a refreshment area.
Sports & Rec
The Legacy Sports Centre boasts a 1,000 square foot Sports Hall of Fame, which proudly displays the memorabilia and successes of local athletes. It is open to public viewing Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The centre also offers fitness programs including wrestling and a range of martial arts. Within the park is a baseball diamond and three softball diamonds each with an announcer’s booth, PA and public washrooms. While runners take their marks at the Rotary Stadium’s eight-lane, rubber track, spectators watch from the partially covered grand-stand seating. The park also has three soccer fields, a rugby field, a cricket pitch, a BMX track, and an outdoor riding ring. The AgriFair Arena and Show Barn buildings are useful for cattle and dog shows.
